Each House in the West Campus House System is overseen by a House
Professor-Dean, a tenured faculty member who is the leader of the
House's intellectual program, and an Assistant Dean, a student affairs
professional who directs the multiple functions of the House and shares
responsibility with the House Professor-Dean for the realization of the
House's educational mission.
Jen loves serving the Alice Cook House community and enjoys being a part of the leadership team of the West Campus House System. Jen managed graduate student housing and directed diversity initiatives for campus life at Cornell before becoming the founding assistant dean of Flora Rose House. Prior to coming to Cornell, Jen worked in higher education and non-profit management in California. Jen received her teacher certification in Portland, OR and taught English in South Korea. Jen has a B.S. in corporate communication and an M.A. in education.
Jen's time outside of work is spent doing fun activities with her husband and two young children. She is also moonlighting as a Ph.D. student studying education and social justice. Her academic interests include examining power, privilege, and oppression dynamics in American higher education. And Jen has a personal curiosity with exploring the intersections of ethical veganism and global environmental and social justice movements.
