Iman Ali is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Anthropology. She is primarily interested in exploring the role of bureaucracy in the humanitarian aid world in Lebanon. Before moving to New York, Iman lived in Michigan where she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Last year, Iman was the Arabic RLF and she is looking forward to coming back to the Alice Cook House community as a GRF. In her spare time, she enjoys reading novels, yoga, running and walking aimlessly for hours.
